Letter from Our Founder
Hi, my name is Pablo Cabrera, born in Ecuador, nationalized American and adopted in Heaven by the grace of Jesus Christ. I am married to Irina Cabrera and together we have two children, Samuel and Abigail. I work at Grace Community Church as the Hispanic Pastor since 2005.
For 29 years, the Lord prepared me in my country of origin where I attained a master’s degree in Business Administration, attended seminary at SETECA and other Christian organizations.
I was born in a Christian home; my father was a pastor for 45 years and through his Ministry and work at HCJB, the Lord allowed me to see the work of missionaries and their impact in Ecuador.
In 2006 and 2008 the Lord allowed me to lead a group from my home church GCC on short term mission trips to Ecuador. In 2010, I went back to Ecuador with a group of students and teachers from Cornerstone Christian School.
My obligations and responsibilities at Church made me put mission trips on hold, although my heart and my vision were to bring more people to work for those in need and to share the Gospel with people in other nations.
In 2015, Dominion Christian School contacted me to lead another mission trip to Ecuador. This time the Lord had prepared for us to work with FUNAPACE (Foundation for Cerebral Palsy). It was heart wrenching to see the needs of those forsaken by the society and government because of their special needs, but at the same time it was amazing to see how many Christians devote their lives and resources to bring some relief for these patients and present the Word of God to them and their parents.
The Lord gave me an expanded vision of service for the disabled, the orphans and the children in need, as well as bringing spiritual and practical support to missionaries and Christian organizations. Upon my return to the USA I planned new mission trips to Ecuador: Grace Community Church (2016, 2018, 2023), Mount Paran Christian School and Dominion Christian School (2017), Cornerstone Preparatory School (2018 and 2019), Westminster Church and Grace Community (2018) and North Cobb Christian School (2019). Some of them have already made plans to travel with our organization on 2024 and 2025
Over the years I have formed support groups in Ecuador to provide safe meals (including strict dietary needs), reliable transportation for all group sizes, accommodations in different cities in Ecuador, and a group of pastors and missionaries in charge of different churches and organizations where we can serve.
In His sovereign plan the Lord has allowed my family and I to feel firsthand the suffering of disability when a little cousin, 3 years old Paulo, was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and given 2 years to live. My family has not been able to find in Ecuador a place for Paulo to receive the therapy and medicine he needs. Even the School system is not ready for patients with this disease. At this point he is not sick enough for what assistance there is, and not healthy enough for regular school.
As a result of the needs the Lord has revealed in Ecuador, I felt compelled to create a nonprofit organization called Future and Hope International, a Foundation Fund focused on bringing help and resources to Ecuador. We will work in conjunction with organizations such as FUNAPACE (Cerebral Palsy Foundation), DUNAMIS (Foundation for victims of sex trafficking) and start a Foundation for Muscular Dystrophy in Ecuador.
The motto of Future and Hope International is “We can’t change the future of the world, but we can give hope to these little ones to impact their future”. Our guide Bible verse is found in Psalm 41:1-3 “Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble. The Lord protects and preserves them— they are counted among the blessed in the land—he does not give them over to the desire of their foes. The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.”
This is the reason for this letter, to present to you what we do and ask for your help in 5 different ways:
- Pray for our Foundation. That the Lord will use us for His Glory and the good of others. That He provides for the needs of this special groups in Ecuador and use us to bring the relieve they need. For every person that work with us here in USA as well as in Ecuador.
- Please consider us for your future mission trips, we have years of experience and a strong track record of safe and productive mission trips
- Once you get to know us and do missions with us, please recommend us to other churches and/or schools. The more mission teams we can bring to Ecuador the more we can accomplish for those in need.
- If you can’t come, consider sending others to the nations, through your support of the Future and Hope Foundation.
- Please consider us when you are ready to donate in goods and/or money.
In His Name
Pablo Cabrera.
